Describe an interesting project you been involved in.
I have been involved in several interesting projects since I joined PIR. One of the most challenging and rewarding ones was a GSM procurement project in Democratic Republic of Congo. The time plan was really tight and there were no time for failure. Spending four weeks in Kinshasa our team managed to evaluate several quotations, negotiate the contract and get a letter of intent signed. The following process of finalizing the contract was concluded without any hick-ups. Having a satisfied customer at the end of the day was more than enough to compensate for the hardship in Kinshasa. After the procurement project I have probably been to Kinshasa 15 times and it is really fun to see the development in the city, part of which is due to the mobile network I had part in procuring.
What do you like most about your job?
It is a great pleasure to work with skilled colleagues in challenging projects. No matter what you run into you know that you can find the tools and experience to solve the situation. Since the projects often are of strategic importance to the customer you get a close relation to management and feel like you play an important role in the decision process. You really get opportunities to work in an international environment with project of significant scale which I find rewarding in many different ways.
