PIR has its roots in complex procurement
At the turn of the millennium, Jan Stenbeck came up with a novel idea. Many substantial and complex procurement transactions were being carried out throughout the Stenbeck Group, especially for telecom equipment. Jan Stenbeck realized it would be more efficient to use procurement specialists, but these were few and far between at the time. As an entrepreneur, Jan Stenbeck did the only right thing: in 2001 he launched Procure It Right AB.
Efficient and successful procurement models were created, models that remain the core pillars of PIR's services. In 2002 PIR was sold to Tele2. The number of personnel has grown over the years and PIR continues its expansion through new clients and assignments around the world.
In the beginning, PIR was focused on telecom and it is primarily from the telecom industry that our procurement experience stems. However today PIR’s consulting assignments encompass many different sectors. We have taken our initial solutions within one specific sector and adapted them to apply to other sectors.
The growth has continued with new geographic markets and customers within many sectors. Our assignments stretch all around the world.
