Insourcing, vendor managment, and SaaS procurement in HR transformation

Context & Objective

The client, driving a large-scale HR transformation, required support with replacement of several business-critical applications (e.g., HR admin, WFM, Payroll), insourcing of outsourced HR services and establishment of an internal Shared Service Center (SSC).

PIR was brought in to advice the program management team on sourcing related enquiries, vendor- and contract management, and to support the client in managing the strong dependencies between contract and deliveries to ensure a successful transformation.

Approach & Result

PIR took a central role in the program management team as advisor on enquiries related to sourcing, vendor- and contract management, and service provider exit management. In addition, PIR supported the client with management of the incumbent outsourcing partner, and providers of the new HR applications.

During the project, the collaboration with one of the client's critical application providers broke down. To mitigate negative impact, PIR supported in identification on fall-back scenarios, due dilligence and contracting of an alternative solution, as well as negotiation extention with incumbent provider to support new timelines for exit transition.
